I am aware of the issue with playing the MP3 via the flash player on the main page (making us sound like chipmunks which some people might think is an improvement :P). I know how to fix that but it’s going to have to wait a few more hours until I get home.
As far as the M4A goes -I tried to make this our primary format for the RSS feed -but it looks like iTunes freaked out and wouldnt download the file correctly. I’m still scratching my head on this one. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it’s doing this? I’ll probably post in the Podpress forum to see if anyone knows whats going on there.
Anyway, it’s back to the MP3 format for iTunes uers until we can get this fixed. I still plan on working on lowering the bit rate as long was I can get it to sound of good quality.
Hope everyone is enjoying this weeks Megacast.
Ok, the MP3 “chipmunk” issue has been fixed by changing the rate to 22.050 khz. I’ve also reduced the bit rate and the MP3 size is now down to 34MB. A big improvement over the 81MB that it use to be.
La La La chatting with myself!
