My obsession with the computer certainly began with the IBM my father brought home when I was in third grade, but gaming happened somewhere between Operation Neptune and Wolfenstein 3D. While consoles were forbidden in my house, my father smuggled in a Gameboy for me and my two sisters, and it was all over then. As the youngest child who coveted the times I got to press the A/B buttons while my sister steered playing Paperboy, I now enjoy watching games for an ungodly number of hours. And while I may be a terrible shot in a FPS (this is why god made boys – to play them for you!), I’ve logged numerous hours in just about every strategy or adventure game you can imagine… and SimCity might as well be my second home. These days I try to hide the fact I carry a DS in my purse, am planning my next year’s summer vacation to QuakeCon, and have a nest egg for the express purpose of buying a Wii on launch day. I will camp out, if need be.
